Senior Patrol Leader
As the Senior Patrol Leader (SPL) of the Westark Area Council's Troop 214, I will be especially mindful of conducting myself by the Scout Oath, Scout Law, Scout Motto and Scout Slogan.
I will lead by example, and I make these commitments to my fellow Scouts, the Scoutmasters, and myself. I will:
  1. Report to the Scoutmaster;

  2. Plan and run the Troop’s meetings and all campouts and outings;

  3. Attend at least 80% of all troop meetings, Patrol Leader Councils, outings, and service projects during my tenure as SPL;

  4. Appoint troop members to positions that will improve the Troop (with Scoutmaster approval). Along with the Scoutmaster, help supervise the activities of the following troop leaders:

    1. Bugler

    2. Librarian

    3. Scribe

    4. Troop Guides

  5. Keep the Troop’s patrol leaders informed of all important Troop information;

  6. Plan and run Patrol Leaders Council (PLC) meetings and do everything possible to ensure the patrols’ success. Publish and distribute an agenda for each PLC;

  7. Be on time and ready for meetings and other troop activities, and tell the Scoutmaster as soon as I know that I can’t make a meeting or event;

  8. Wear the proper uniform at Troop meetings and events;

  9. Plan, coordinate and run Courts of Honor unless this responsibility is delegated to another scout by the Scoutmaster;

  10. Help other scouts whenever possible and be especially supportive of younger and less experienced scouts;

  11. Have fun and help other scouts have fun too!

I understand that I will receive FULL leadership credit if I follow the above stated commitments. I may only receive partial credit if the above commitments are not met.
